National Nursing Assessment Service (NNAS) Application Process

If you wish to apply to the National Nursing Assessment Service (NNAS) in Canada in order to work as a nurse in Canada (except for Quebec and the Territories) then you must submit notarized true copies of your proof of identity documents. Neighbourhood Notary can help you notarize your proof of identity documents.

The National Nursing Assessment Service (NNAS)

If you are an internationally educated nurse who completed your nursing education outside of Canada and are seeking registration to practise as a Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) in a Canadian province, (with the exception of Quebec and the Territories), you must first apply to the NNAS.

The NNAS is a Canadian not-for-profit organization that offers a streamlined process for internationally educated nurses to submit their documents and provide them with the tools to apply for Canadian nursing registration. Learn more about the NNAS here.
The NNAS Application Process

There are five steps in the NNAS Application Process. Step 2 of the application process requires applicants to submit two forms of identification to directly to NNAS. At least one form of identification must contain your photo and it must be current and not expired. They must be notarized, copies of original documents (signed, dated, and stamped) complete with your signature. Learn more about the NNAS application process here.

You must be with the notary at the time your original documents are copied and notarized as certified true copies. NNAS does not accept original identity documents.

Neighbourhood Notary can help you notarize your proof of identity documents.
